Director Comment
The director said his reputation for delivering shocks was unjust. "Journalists always try to stick a label on directors,"he said."For a long time I have been expert in violence." "A film's style should match its subject matter, not its director", and "this film is about love." It happened to me -- i looked at someone I loved deeply and watched them suffer, and that made me want to make this film." "I experienced something in my family that touched me." He thanked his wife and - said he had promised her "we would never leave each other, like in the film."
